True Wealth

True & lasting wealth has nothing to do with what you have in the bank. The world would tell us that your net worth is attached to your bank account,financial portfolio and investments, but I say non-sense. How about some of the valuable things that money cannot buy? Like love, peace, joy, favor and true happiness. Nothing on that list can to bought with money.

Kingdom wealth can be found by the people who see things before than happen; before they become reality. Those people walk by faith and understand that true prosperity is attached to our soul, rather than Wells Fargo, or Bank of America.

Reach as high as you can, seek things that are above and not here on earth. Reach for your very own prosperity. Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you will find, Knock and the door shall be opened to you.” Spiritual financials are far more valuable than money!

Why Ask Why…….?

Ever wonder why life is not sometimes (usually) fair? Ever think the grass really does look greener on the side? Ever feel I should have done it the other way? Sure we all have answered those questions “yes”. Life truly has a basket full of “Why” questions, when in essence there are some “whys” that will never be answered for us. So why ask why? Some things just are!

Life has taught us many lessons, and one I take to heart is learning how to read people. Some of us are so busy taking care of us – that we really don’t spend much time concerned with the needs of others. Sure there are many people who spend their days serving, helping and caring for others. Yet in reality it appears most folks are ultimately thinking….. what’s in it for me? So sad.

True happiness will come from within. You will only find it temporarily in another person. Look within, find your peace and share THAT with the world around you. There are few things more empowering than looking in the mirror with a peaceful, accepting and content attitude. Then going out and sharing THAT inner peace with those who are blessed to encounter you. Live every day at your best!

Move Mountain!

Faith has the ability to move any mountain in your path. Some are big and some are small. God being King has delivered me from them all. There is no way that I will go back to what I used to be – His presence has come and saved me!

Looking at life through the eyes of Jesus will surely change your perspective. My trials are intended for my triumph. My test turn into testimony. My personal lack of ability is met by His powerful hand and everything shifts. Karen is not able to overcome without the help of God. Going through a touch situation today and not being moved by what my eyes can see. My spiritual eyes are open to God moving that mountain and leveling my path.

Today is a gift from God. No matter what pops up – He already has a solution. I’ve learned that the harder the situation, the bigger the blessing. Nothing is impossible for our God. He is the true Fixer…………..! Watch out world!

Starve My Fears

One of my mentors defines fear as “imagined failure”, meaning we think that we are going to fail and we allow those thoughts to hold us back. As I researched the word fear I found this definition: an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. Or to be afraid of (someone or something) that is likely to be dangerous, painful, or threatening. What if this is all in our imagination and not even real? How costly that could be?

One of the most beautiful young ladies I know had struggled with self-defeating thoughts for far too long – then realized it was related to fear. This lady has climbed the corporate ladder – stunned audiences with her fashion design gift – and styled celebrities. Who would have ever imagined she felt the fear? What she knows now is that champions feel the fear – and win regardless. Facing our fears can be one of the biggest power moves we make in life.

Let’s not kid ourselves – we have all felt fear from time to time. The important thing is what we do with those thoughts. Fear should teach us all lessons about what not to ponder, and how to stay in control. Don’t allow anything to hold you back. Shocking News!

How do you react when shocking news comes? How do you hold another person’s hand when their shocking news comes? Have you determined what the best response is when the things is out of your control?

Last week on of the young ladies I mentor received a call from her doctor about the lump in her breast – and was instructed to come to the office ASAP. She called me in distress and today she is at the office getting the news. She cried all weekend in an anxious state of the impending dread. All I could do was encourage her, pray, point towards Jesus and ensure her that she is never alone.

The lessons and tests God allows us to endure are surely intended to draw us closer to Him. Our Lord wants us to know that we never walk alone. Sure a human shoulder to cry on is needed – but at the end of the day – the Lord is our Banner, our Refuge, our Strength, and our Comfort. Shocking news will come and go – but the faithfulness of our God lasts into eternity.!

Always Growing

We will never arrive in the earthly body – therefore we should always strive to keep growing. Becoming better, stretching ourselves, pressing toward the mark, reaching upwards. Our days a few and time is our currency. How are you spending your God-given gifts and talents?

In a recent meeting with my mentor, he made a remark that caused me to tighten up. I was not offended, just unsettled. While those defining moments in life are uncomfortable and awkward – they are necessary. How will we ever grow if we don’t confront the hard stuff? How can I become better if I don’t face the facts of my own insufficiency? How can I expect to be effective in the ministry if criticism gets me off track? NOT!

Dedication requires perseverance, patience, tolerance, and a loving spirit. I’m glad to say this part of the journey is painfully good. We cannot grow without growing pains. We should not look to the right or the left – keep your eyes on Jesus and walk boldly.

Found Forever

Have you ever lost a valuable part of life and your heart desperately searched high and low for them? Have you ever wondered why some things hurt when they depart from our lives? Why does the emptiness appear and solace cannot be found on those days?

When I was lost in the world – seeking out for something that could not be found – that emptiness was overwhelming. The passionate search for forbidden things can surely turn our world upside down. The moment that Jesus found me – I was FOUND FOREVER. You see our Lord lives in eternity and when He wraps His loving arms around us – it is not temporary – it is forever. We are no longer lost like a sheep without a Guide. No longer wandering in the wilderness.

Our days should be filled with the awareness that our Lord reigns sovereign over every single thing that happens, and owns every thing on the earth. When we find Him – we have found an eternal love that will provide for us, guide us and keep us throughout this life and into eternity. Our loved ones who knew Him and have passed from life on this earth are resting with Him. Thank you Lord for always caring for us!

Beautiful Person

A beautiful person has nothing to do with the way he/she looks on the outside. It has everything to do with the way he/she looks on the inside. The 21st century media has perpetuated errors in our society in regards to what real beauty is. Those people on the cover of magazines are rarely beautiful on the inside…………. oops did I say that out loud?

Recently I attended a funeral service for a special lady I had the pleasure of meeting while in high school. And I must admit she was extremely pretty on the outside – and as I got to know her better – I was blessed to see how truly beautiful she was on the inside. Her smile was engaging and her heart was alluring. She had the innate ability to make everyone who came close to her feel loved and special.

During the service – every single person came up and said the true fact about this lady – she really was a beautiful person. Life is short and we only get one shot on this earth. Our legacy will live on after we are gone – and beautiful people impact our world for the good. Thank you my dear sister-friend for showing us what beauty looks like on the inside. Gone but never forgotten.

Open Arms

We are always welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord. Doesn’t matter what I’ve done, how I may have said the wrong thing, looked the wrong way, or how I may have just blown it out of proportion ……….. God is always ready and waiting for you and I to show up. His presence is healing, soothing, comforting and blessing. When He showers His love down on me – I melt in His arms.

I’ve tried a lot of things in this life and I have to admit – that NOTHING compares to a few precious moments in the presence of the Almighty God. NOTHING! So when you are faced with the pressures of this world, trials or temptation, rainy or painful days – please remember that our God stands right beside you. Always ready to wrap His loving arms around you.

On my good days – I run to Him. On my hard days – I run to Him. His love has captured me and there is no greater love. He is the Lion and the Lamb. We are always safe in His arms………..!

The Other Side

Years ago I read a book called “The Other Side of Midnight”. It was a compelling story about romance, passion and power. A woman trying to track down her long-lost love after World War II. I never knew how this book impacted my life until I started chasing after Jesus with that same determination that woman showed. I love Him with a passion that changed my life.

Now I do my best to stay on the “Other Side of Midnight”, and on the “Other Side of the Cross”. I have found victory on the other side…….. No one can pull me back. Recently I have been confronted with people who are jealous and want to compete. There is no competition for those who are IN Christ Jesus – our gifts make room for us.

People, places and things are given and taken away by the hand of God. We don’t need to compete – God has already equipped each of us with what we need to perform His will. Keep you focus on YOUR purpose and God will use your life. Focus on others and you will miss your blessing. Life is too short. Find your way to the “other side of the Cross.”
